How Ad Astra helps

Ad Astra Consult helps turn vision into execution, either owning a piece of the work or staying involved from the initial investigation through to implementation. You can bring Ad Astra in at any of these points.

  1. 01 · DIAGNOSE

    Establish what needs to change

Ad Astra investigates the business, tests explanations and identifies the constraints, opportunities and choices that matter.

Outcome: You get an evidence-backed assessment of what is happening and why, with clear recommendations on where to act.

  2. 02 · DESIGN & PLAN

Design a business or operating change and how it will work

Ad Astra develops the commercial or operating approach, working through the offer, economics, organisation, resources and delivery.

Outcome: You get a concrete strategy, business case or operating design, supported by an implementation roadmap with priorities, responsibilities and resource requirements.

  3. 03 · IMPLEMENT

Make the change happen and work in practice

Ad Astra takes senior ownership of leading the agreed initiative across functions, resolves decisions and dependencies, and works with teams to put the changes into practice.

Outcome: You get the agreed changes working in the business, with teams equipped to sustain them and ongoing ownership established.

Engagements

Ad Astra works with clients in three ways. What separates them is who does which part of the work.

Strategy & diagnostic projects

Ad Astra investigates the business and designs the way forward, and hands over a plan your team implements.

This fits when you need a clear answer to a defined question: why growth has stalled, how a new opportunity should work, or what needs to change before the next stage.

Example

  • Diagnose: an analysis of current pricing, packaging and customer evidence, establishing where they help or hinder commercial performance.
  • Design & Plan: a future pricing and packaging model, the logic behind it, and how existing customers move across.
  • Handover: an implementation plan with priorities, responsibilities and resource requirements, ready for your team to carry out.

Implementation programmes: Chief of Staff / COO services

Some changes take months to land and need senior ownership across functions while they do.

In an implementation programme, Ad Astra takes that ownership and implements the plan over an agreed period.

Implementation follows the business's own cycles, such as planning rounds, hiring, customer renewals or the first customers in a new market, so a programme runs until the changes work in practice and ongoing ownership is in place.

Example

  • Set-up: the implementation plan turned into a programme with owners, milestones and decision points, agreed with leadership.
  • Delivery: the agreed changes led across sales, product and finance, resolving decisions and dependencies as they come up, and working with the teams to put the new model into practice.
  • Handover: the new model working in the business, with teams equipped to run it and ongoing ownership in place.

Leadership advisory & sparring

Your leadership does the work, and Ad Astra sharpens the thinking.

Sparring can be ongoing or focused. Ongoing sparring runs alongside a piece of work over time, with regular sessions as leadership sets direction and makes the trade-offs. Focused sparring is a few sessions on a single topic, to pressure-test a decision or plan before it is taken further.

Example

  • Founder sparring through a growth strategy: regular sessions as the founder sets direction, makes the trade-offs and takes the plan to the team and board.
  • GTM sparring ahead of entering a new market: a few sessions to pressure-test segment choice, route to market and sequencing.
  • Funding readiness sparring ahead of a raise: pressure-testing the growth plan, the story behind it and what investors will look for.
